Zinc Phosphate Primer P-3222 is a heavy-duty, general-purpose metal primer formulated with zinc phosphate as the active anti-corrosive pigment and a phenolic-modified alkyd resin as the binder. It delivers excellent adhesion and long-lasting rust protection, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
This primer is widely used on iron and steel structures such as machinery, water tanks, pipelines, and iron gates. It has a matte gray finish and can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. With a theoretical coverage of 35–45 square meters per gallon and a dry film thickness of 40–50 microns, it provides reliable protection under various environmental conditions.
Drying times are efficient, with touch dry achieved in 0.5 to 1 hour, and full curing within 6 to 8 hours. For dilution, Dyno Thinner No.2 is recommended, with brush or roller applications using 5–10% thinner and air spray applications using 10–20%.
For best performance, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from contaminants, rust, or loose paint before application.
