The 8400 System Food and Beverage Alkyd Enamels are specially formulated for use in food processing plants and other environments where mold and mildew resistance is essential. This modified alkyd coating contains additives that help prevent mold and mildew growth in the dried paint film, supporting cleaner, more hygienic conditions. Designed for versatility and durability, the system can be applied to surfaces at temperatures as low as 18°F (-8°C), making it ideal for refrigerated or unconditioned environments. Note: this system is not recommended for use on galvanized steel.
As part of the 8400 System, 8469 Red Rusted Metal Primer is a rust-inhibitive primer formulated for use on sound rusted steel, as well as clean or abrasive blast-cleaned metal surfaces. It serves as a durable basecoat, enhancing the longevity of the full coating system.
Also available is 8492 White Clean Metal Primer, designed specifically for clean steel surfaces or for use as an intermediate coat in multi-layer systems. Both primers provide strong adhesion and corrosion resistance.
The 8400 Food and Beverage Coating System complies with USDA FSIS regulatory sanitation performance standards for food establishment facilities, making it a trusted choice for food-safe environments.
