At the U-Tapao fuel storage facility, a full coating system was implemented for aviation fuel tanks, covering both internal and external surfaces. For the tank interiors, a Rust-Oleum epoxy system was used—formulated specifically for water immersion conditions. This high-gloss epoxy coating offers outstanding durability and chemical resistance, ideal for prolonged contact with fuel and moisture.
On the exterior, a heavy-duty Rust-Oleum alkyd system was selected to provide robust protection against corrosion in the airport’s coastal setting. The final topcoat features a heat-reflective, high-gloss finish in a custom shade designed to improve thermal performance while maintaining an attractive appearance. Together, these coatings ensure long-lasting protection and reduce the need for frequent maintenance in a high-demand aviation environment.
