At Le Méridien Phuket, a luxury beachfront resort on Thailand’s Andaman coast, specialized wood coatings were used throughout interior spaces to protect and elevate the appearance of natural wood finishes. Given the tropical climate and proximity to the sea, the chosen coating system was selected for its moisture resistance, durability, and ability to retain natural aesthetics over time.
The woodwork—used in lobbies, guest areas, and restaurants—was treated with a clear or stained protective finish that provides long-term resistance to swelling, fading, and fungal growth, ensuring the resort’s interiors remain visually striking and structurally sound despite constant exposure to coastal humidity.
